Madrid does not offer much for tourists and a two days visit is enough. But it’s a very elegant city, “Imperial”, organized and hospitable. It has the feeling of being at home.
The tour of Madrid can start from the Royal Palace where, to avoid long queues, it is good to show up in the early hours of the morning. The realheart of the city, however, is Plaza Mayor where you can sit at a table in one of the many local and enjoy the walk of Madrid. Then, perhaps after a brief moment of relaxation at the Buen Retiro Park, visit at least one of the Museo del Prado, with the famous “Las Meninaz” by Velazquez, and Reina Sofia, with the famous “Guernica” by Picasso.
The easiest and fastest way to get to Madrid Barajas airport is the Metro line No. 8 (pink line) which provides access to the last stop Nuevos Ministerios.
The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Tickets can be purchased directly at the airport machines.
The Barajas airport ticket to Madrid city center and therefore a cost of 4.50 euro.
